Annual school reports are a means to make schools accountable to parents and other members of the school community. The New South Wales Department of Education and Training has produced a new format for primary school and secondary school annual reports. The new format, still in draft form, will be trialled in about 50 schools in first term 2006, using 2005 data. The changes are, in part, a response to nine recommendations of the Auditor-General, presented in a major report last year.
