Project proposal summary

The Indigenous Education Project aims to assist Indigenous secondary students in the ACT to learn more about their culture. Project workshops include Indigenous local history, artefact use and manufacture, art, community support and leadership camps at Birrigai Outdoor School. The activities will reflect good practice in values education by providing positive Indigenous and Non-Indigenous role models for students, assisting them to discovering the importance of values and how they influence actions. In particular students will explore the concepts of self-directed learning and taking responsibility for their actions.
