Project proposal summary
This project involves the research, development, implementation and evaluation of a K–12 character framework that facilitates a whole school approach towards the embedding and explicit teaching of identified values in learning activities occurring in cluster schools.
This project will involve each school developing an appropriate and individually customised version of:
- an audit of implicit and explicit values currently taught;
- a range of tools including surveys, forums, foundational concepts, anecdotal evidence and community discussions to identify focus values to be taught;
- developing a draft framework of age-appropriate, sequential, learning activities, processes, experiences and understandings to embed identified values in the cluster schools' culture, curriculum and celebrations;
- trialling the framework and evaluating its effectiveness.
Heights College’s website includes four theme posters on character, leadership, influence and breakthrough. Go to About Heights > The Heights’ Way on the website to view the posters.
