Project proposal summary
This project aims to give students the opportunity to ‘live’ their values by participating in community projects, attending student forums that examine their values and developing a visual diary that illustrates the National Framework for Values Education in Australian Schools. Staff and parents within the cluster will participate in professional development that supports the values programs at each school, the Victorian Essential Learnings Domain of Physical, Personal and Social Learning and the National Framework for Values Education. At each school within the cluster, students will plan, fund and implement projects that support local community. Presentations to Council and at Parent Nights will become part of the reflective process for our students.
Red Earth Community Cluster has created a website with links to the schools in the cluster and their projects. It includes Victorian Essential Learning Standards units of work and information on how they used teacher leave to develop a whole school framework for embedding thinking tools and strategies to enhance student engagement.
